"Instant Pot" - Programmable Pressure Cooker / Slow Cooker - How To Choose Which Model to Buy

If you haven't already gotten your own "Instant Pot" you will after you see all the things that this amazing device can do for you including making Yogurt.

Here is a great YouTube video that shows the features of the new generation of "Instant Pot" IP-DUO model.

When you look on Amazon for "Instant Pot" it is very easy to get confused by all the similar looking "Instant Pots" and different prices. I did a lot of research before I purchased the one and I wanted to give you the benefit of the all my time and effort to help you sort things out quickly.  There a big difference in price so choosing the right one for your needs will save you money.

First start by going to this link "Instant Pot" so you can see all the various types that I talk about below. Alternatively you can use this link by clicking on it or copy/paste into your browser .

  • Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1. 6 Quart – 1000 Watts. – This model is the top of the line and in addition to all the features and functions of the other types it has a Yogurt setting.
  • Instant Pot IP-DUO50  7-in-1. 5 Quart – 900 Watts. – This model is the next step down in size and power from the IP-DUO60. It does everything that the top of the line IP-DUO60 does just in a smaller size and a little less wattage.
  • Instant Pot IP-LUX60  6-in-1. 6 Quart – 1000 Watts. – This model is essentially the same as the IP-DUO60 in features, size and wattage, but it doesn’t have the Yogurt setting.
  • Instant Pot IP-LUX50  6-in-1. 5 Quart – 900 Watts. – This model is essentially the same as the IP-LUX60 just in a smaller size (5 qt ) and less wattage (900W) and it doesn’t have the Yogurt setting either.
So aside from some other differences in how the various models look and some other more minor features the really important differences are size (6 qt vs 5 qt and wattage (1000W vs 900W) and whether you need a Yogurt setting. Hopefully this will help you make the decision as to which  "Instant Pot" is best for your needs
